Grown Up Wrong

Who are they?

Grown Up Wrong are from Preston, England and were formed in November 2000, to participate in a charity event, which took place on Friday 16 February 2001. They play covers of the 1960's – present day and are very much influenced by the Rolling Stones and other 60's bands. Further gigs followed and the band are now regular performers around Lancashire. In July 2002, they released their debut CD, Saints & Sinners…Bums & Winners, which in the first week of release outsold Oasis’ Hindu Times (in the Longton/Hutton area of Preston).

Band Members

Rockin' Rick Hoyle - the charismatic frontman is already building quite a fan club following. He is famed for his high energy performance, despite approaching his 30th birthday.

'Slim' Nick Oldham - the founder of the band and the man of a 'thousand riffs'. The music critics acknowledge that his guitar work on Brown Sugar is comparable with the original Stones version.

'Jumpin' Jeff Smith - the bassist who has often been described as a 'Musical Prostitute'. Jeff not only looks the part, but is renouned as a true Rock n' Roll hero.

Lloyd 'Ding Dong' Bell - the rhythm guitarist and Brad Pitt lookalike, with the sexy trousers to match. Previous experience in a 'Led Zepp' tribute band before being recruited by the 'Grown ups'.

Shaun 'Ringo' Heffernan - the drummer and youngster of the band who is in his final year at art college. Despite his tender years, has a lot of experience with a number of Lancashire bands.

Helen 'H' Bolton - the glamorous backing vocalist who often steals the show with her terrific looks and percussion.

Simon ‘The Smoothie’ Griffin – recruited to the Grown Up’s as vocalist/occasional acoustic guitar. Previous experience in Elvis/Everley Brothers tribute bands.

Eric ‘Mix it’ Bennett – The soundman, who gives the band a balanced aspect to all areas of their music. He is also a well-respected drummer having performed in the folk rock scene around Lancashire.
